join ABC’s ocean-ecological & snorkeling tour.
Your tour starts beachside, with our guide explaining how Guam was made, where sand comes from, and what important plants grow along the shoreline. Next our guide, will take you into the shallow ocean waters (2-4 feet) for a three-stop tour.
First Stop – INTERESTING!! – Sea grass, sea cucumbers and small crabs. Learn why sea plants are important to pregnant fish and the ocean environment. Keep your eyes open and you might find a sea horse hiding in the sea grass. Learn about the various types of sea cucumbers and some of their special uses, for food, shoes, and natural anesthetic for fishing.
Second Stop – Intriguing!! – Coral Gardens. Visit ABC’s Coral Gardens and try to identify some of the over 350 different coral species Guam has. (By the way, Hawaii only has 60 species of coral.) Learn how coral grows and why it is so important.
Third stop – Fun!! – Fish observation & feeding – Meet “Charley” the puffer fish and “Sammy” the eel along with 100’s of other fish characters that are friendly enough for you to feed and observe.
